Discover Mali
Mali is one of the great cultural cradles of West Africa: the Ghana and Mali empires, the manuscripts of Timbuktu, the earthen architecture of Djenné, the Dogon cosmology. The Niger River crosses it in a vast arc and sets the rhythm of life in the country. The security situation makes travel very difficult today.
Most governments now strongly advise against all travel to Mali. Check the travel advice of your own government and of France Diplomatie (the French foreign ministry's travel advice) before making any plans.
