Central African Republic

Bangui, Boali, Dzanga-Sangha: understanding the Central African Republic before you travel.

The country at a glance

Discover Central African Republic

At the very center of the continent, the Central African Republic is home to some of the least known forests and savannas in Africa. Dzanga-Sangha, in the southwest, is one of the few places where you can see both lowland gorillas and forest elephants. The security situation severely limits travel today.

Most governments strongly advise against travel to a large part of the country. Check the travel advice of your own government and of France Diplomatie (the French foreign ministry's travel advice) before making any plans.
