Tabaski, the Feast of the Sacrifice, is celebrated with family around the sacrificial sheep. In Niger it brings two public holidays (May 27 and 28 in 2026). Like all Islamic holidays, the date can shift by a day depending on the moon sighting. The French foreign ministry advises against all travel to Niger.
